About Us

External Images is the team behind the External Images Plugin for WordPress, a lightweight plugin that lets users display externally hosted images without uploading them. We help WordPress users speed up their sites and simplify media workflows.

The Role

We’re a small team of four, a marketer, a customer support rep, a backend developer, and me (founder & fullstack dev), and we’re looking for a talented Frontend Developer with a strong eye for detail and UX. You’ll lead the frontend, build intuitive UI components, and collaborate closely with the team to improve plugin usability.

What You’ll Do

• Build and improve frontend features for the WordPress admin interface
• Work closely with the product team to implement clean, intuitive UIs
• Optimize for performance and accessibility
• Write modular, maintainable code (React/JS/jQuery)
• Participate in async code reviews and discussions

Requirements

• Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience building UIs in WordPress (React or jQuery)
• Familiarity with Gutenberg and WordPress plugin development
• Git/GitHub proficiency
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in an async team

Nice to Have

• Experience with PHP or backend WordPress development
• Contributions to WordPress plugins or themes (optional)
• Interest in performance optimization or image handling on the web
